Volunteering Program

Eagan Hockey relies on our families to help create a strong, connected hockey community. DIBS is the system we use to track volunteer hours.

1 Dib = 1 volunteer hour.

Volunteer Requirements (2026–2027 Season)

  • Mini‑Mite only families: 2 hours
  • One player (Mite/8U and older): 4 hours
  • Two or more players: 5 hours

Volunteer opportunities, descriptions, locations, and hour values are posted in the Volunteering section of your CrossBar account.

Dibs Deposit

  • Travel teams (*or Mini Mite family + Travel family): $400 deposit due during registration
  • Non‑travel teams (*or Mini Mite family + Non-travel family): $400 deposit due during registration
  • Mini‑Mite families: $200 deposit due during registration

Your deposit will not be processed if all required hours are completed. If hours are incomplete, your deposit will be processed on May 1. Partial hours are not prorated.

An opt‑out option is available during registration. If selected, you pay the deposit immediately and no hours are required.

Examples of Volunteer Opportunities

  • Scoreboard operator
  • Mite/Fall 3v3 Board setup/takedown
  • Team manager
  • EHA events (Golf Tournament, Squirt Faceoff, Mite Jamboree, etc.)
  • Hotdog Hockey
  • Additional opportunities posted throughout the season

Canceling or Changing Dibs

  • Shifts may be canceled more than 24 hours before the event.
  • Canceling within 24 hours requires you to find a replacement.
  • Unfilled shifts impact events—contact the appropriate Coordinator if you cannot find coverage.
  • Families are responsible for claiming and completing their own hours in the Dibs system.
  • For help, contact your team manager first, then the Volunteer Coordinator.

Dibs‑Exempt Roles

Families are exempt from Dibs requirements if they include:

  • EHA Board Members
  • Coaches
  • Team Managers
  • Committee Members (Tryout, Special Events, Tournament, Coach Selection, Apparel)
  • Junior Gold players
  • Termite players
