Summer 2025 Program Information

The Eagan Hockey Association believes that the best hockey players are the best athletes. Summertime is a chance to play soccer, baseball, lacrosse or just play outside. It is also beneficial to find some time to work on your hockey skills. This program runs during the day on weekdays to avoid any conflict with summer sports.  We love the idea of being able to skate during the day and then play your summer sports at night.

Our skill-based training sessions are run by experienced trainers.  Sessions are focused on individual skills and small area games. Goalies are encouraged to participate. There is no specific goalie training and therefore goalies will be free.  Goalies may attend all dryland sessions including the Training Haus sessions.  Travel team sessions will be split into groups based on age and gender for appropriate skill development.

Note: This program is only open to players who participate in the Eagan Hockey Association during the winter season.   Summer 2025 Home Ice Advantage registration is based on the level at which you will be  participating in during the 2025-2026 season.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Home Ice Advantage replacing High School STP for peewees and first year bantams?
The high school STP and HIA programs are separate and run by different organizations. EHA recognizes that this summer’s high school STP program will be limited to high school-aged players. As a result, EHA is adding additional ice and an option for Peewees and first-year Bantams to participate in the HIA program this summer.
Can my younger child who is a Mini-Mite skate with his/her sibling who is a Mite?
No, we want to keep everyone skating with their peers and players of similar age and ability.
Will there be separate groups for girls at 6U?
No at 6U (mini-mites).  All mini-mites skate during the same hour.
Will there be separate groups for girls at 8U?
8U will share the ice with boys using station-based practices.   We will separate into stations by gender and/or skill level to the best of our ability.   Coaches will have descretion on the ice when splitting skaters into groups. Your son or daughter may be skating with the opposite gender.
Will 8U girls' teams be in the same stations and performing identical drills to the Mite 2/3 boys?
Yes, the 8U will follow the exact same practice plan as the Mite 2/3 boys. We will do our best to keep the girls in a separate station competing against each other.
Can I register my daughter to play with the boys at Squirts?
Yes.  If you have a daughter and you register for Squirts, either select 'male' during the registration process or email jkerr@eaganhockey.com after you have registered to indicate you would like to be in the 10U girls group.  By default, all girls will placed in the 10U group unless you request to skate with the boys.  If there are not enough girls registered for 10U, they may need to skate with the squirt boys or we will offer you a refund.
Will there be separate dryland groups for girls at 10U?
We plan to have dryland Pods that are girls only and an all-girls group on half the ice.   Ice-time will typically be in the format of a half-ice practice. This is dependent on having enough 10Us registered.
