Summer 2024 Program Information

The Eagan Hockey Association believes that the best hockey players are the best athletes. Summertime is a chance to play soccer, baseball, lacrosse or just play outside. It is also beneficial to find some time to work on your hockey skills. This program runs during the day on weekdays to avoid any conflict with summer sports.  We love the idea of being able to skate during the day and then play your summer sports at night.

Our skill-based training sessions are run by experienced trainers.  Sessions are focused on individual skills and small area games. Goalies are encouraged to participate. There is no specific goalie training and therefore goalies will be free.  Goalies may attend all dryland sessions including the Training Haus sessions.  Travel team sessions will be split into groups based on age and gender for appropriate skill development.

Note: This program is open to players who participate in the Eagan Hockey Association during the winter season.   Summer 2024 Home Ice Advantage registration is based on the level at which you will be  participating in during the 2024-2025 season.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can my younger child who is a Mini-Mite skate with his/her sibling who is a Mite?
No, we want to keep everyone skating with their peers and players of similar age and ability.
Will there be separate groups for girls at 6U and 8U?
Yes. 6U and 8U will share the ice with station-based practices.   We will separate groups by age and/or skill level.
Will the U6 and U8 girls' teams be in the same stations and performing identical drills?
No, the U6 and U8 girls' teams will not follow the exact same practice plan. Their shared ice time will resemble a half-ice practice session, where station drills will be tailored to suit the developmental needs of each age group accordingly.
Can I register my daughter to play with the boys?
Yes.  If you have a daughter and you register for Squirts, Mite or Mini-Mites your daughter will be placed in the group selected.
Will there be separate dryland groups for girls at 10U?
We plan to have dryland Pods that are girls only and an all-girls group on half the ice.   Ice-time will typically be in the format of a half-ice practice.
