Sweet Hockey Training - - is the first of its kind, web-based video teaching platform. There are two (2) parts to the program that all players and coaches will have unlimited access to.
*OnlineStickhandling*- - Think of onlinestickhandling as a virtual stick handling hockey school, where players and coaches will have unlimited access to 20 different stick handing lesson plans or homework assignments. Each drill will have a detailed explanation and demonstration of the exercise. Watch the videos, print off the plan and start practicing. This can all be done at home and at times that work within each player’s schedule. OLS provides the structure and purpose, but the success of the program comes down to the self-motivation, commitment and time spent on improving. All they’ll need is access to the internet, an area to practice (8’ x 10’ is plenty of space), their stick, gloves, ball or puck and a willingness to put the time into getting better.
*Technical Skills Drill Archive*- - Coaches and players will have unlimited access to our long-term technical skill development drill library, concentrating on how to teach technical skating (both forward and backwards), on-ice stick handling, agility, use of jump ropes and how to teach shooting. There are over 400 different drills to assist the coaches within your program in teaching these fundamental core skills. As an association, we are all trying to find ways to better educate coaches, develop players, make it a fun experience and keep everyone coming back year after year.
Sweet Hockey training is open to all players and coaches in EHA.
There is no fee to complete this registration. Immediate access is granted upon completion. Each player participating for the 2011-12 season needs to be registered. GO TO: http://eha.sportngin.com

*Frequently Asked Questions????*
1. *How do I gain access? *An email will be sent to you with your username, password and all the information you’ll need to know to access the content. You will be also asked at this time to opt-in to Sweet Hockey Training regular newsletter/email blasts that provide tips, updates and information on how to best utilize this program and content. We encourage each of you to do so. **
2. *How much will this cost?* There is no charge to association members.
3. *How long does each lesson plan take to complete?* Each plan takes approximately 20-25 minutes to complete. Players are encouraged to do each assignment 3-5 times per week before moving on to the following plan.
4. *As a coach, how am I suppose to use this?* As an association, we want to have consistency in what’s being taught at all levels. We want everyone to recognize the importance of long-term skill development and commit to doing some of the drills in the archive for 15-25 minutes of each practice. The rest of the practice you are free to do what ever you feel.
5. *Why are we doing this program?* *_Visual Learning_* - 65% of the population are visual learners. They need to see how something is done in order to learn something new. There is nothing that we’ve found that can effectively educate coaches in how to teach the technical part of the game from the written word. Each drill in the coaches’ video drill archive is explained in detail and then demonstrated. Coaches watch the drill, see how it’s performed and then are better equipped to explain and have players execute on the ice. The same concept applies to how the online stick handling is taught to players.
6. *Who do I contact if I have questions*? Derek Shepherd at shepd3@aol.com and Lance Pitlick at lance.pitlick@sweethockey.com
